Teaching Philosophy

I have a passion for education, attending workshops, reading professional literature, and collaborating with my peers.  My true passion is self-regulation and self-regulated learning, yet I have come to see that SR and SEL are rooted in all curricular competencies.  When we engage students through meaningful learning experiences in a safe and inclusive environment we provide a platform for self-regulation and social emotional learning.  Over the last year I have developed a passion for teaching Math!  The new Math curriculum provides an amazing platform for SR and SEL, where my goal is to support responsive teaching, along with opportunities for thoughtful and curious investigation and inquiry.  As an educator, my focus is on reflecting, collaborative relationships in learning, and empowering students to set high standards for themselves through formative assessment and self-reflection.
